How to create a MEXC account for beginners

MEXCAccount guide · 3 min read

MEXC is a global exchange known for a wide spot and futures listing. This guide focuses on beginners: safe signup on the official site, email verification, KYC tiers, 2FA, then deposit. Type the official domain manually (typically mexc.com) and download the app only from official stores.

Disclaimer: account creation education only. Crypto and especially leveraged products carry high risk. Service availability per country may change — read notices in your MEXC account.

1. Practical requirements

  • Age per MEXC rules (often 18+ in many jurisdictions — follow what is shown at signup).
  • Valid email address or phone number.
  • Government ID (KTP, passport, or national ID) for KYC.
  • Phone with camera for face verification at Advanced KYC.

2. Step-by-step registration

  1. Open official MEXC → click Sign Up or Register.
  2. Choose email or phone as your login method.
  3. Create a strong password (long, unique, not reused from other sites).
  4. Enter the email verification code (or SMS OTP if you used phone).
  5. Complete captcha / initial security steps if prompted.
  6. Log in → go directly to the account security center.
Avoid mirror/phishing sites: check domain spelling (mexc.com only). Never enter a seed phrase — exchanges do not use seeds like self-custody wallets.

3. Enable 2FA before depositing

  1. Account → Security → Google Authenticator (or available 2FA option).
  2. Scan QR, save backup key offline.
  3. Confirm with 6-digit code + password.
  4. Optional: enable email alerts and anti-phishing code.

4. Identity Verification (Primary & Advanced KYC)

MEXC uses tiered KYC: Primary unlocks basic limits; Advanced raises withdrawal limits and unlocks more features. Complete both when you plan to deposit or trade regularly.

  1. Click profile icon → Identity Verification or KYC.
  2. Primary KYC: select country/region, enter personal details, upload ID document photos (front; back if requested).
  3. Submit Primary and wait for approval (often minutes to a few hours).
  4. Advanced KYC: complete face verification — follow on-screen movements (turn head, blink, etc.).
  5. Submit and wait for review (often 1–24 hours; longer when busy).
Form name must match your ID exactly. Avoid abbreviations. If rejected, read the reason in the app and retake photos.

5. Safe deposit

  1. Assets → Deposit (or Wallet → Deposit).
  2. Choose coin (e.g. USDT) and a network you understand.
  3. Copy MEXC deposit address; double-check every character.
  4. Send a small test transfer from another wallet/exchange.
  5. After on-chain confirmation and balance arrives, increase amount.

For fiat/P2P: only trade with reputable merchants, understand escrow, do not move chat off-platform during payment.

6. Trading: safe order for beginners

  • Start with Spot → understand order book and fees.
  • Postpone Futures / leverage until you understand margin and liquidation.
  • Do not share API keys with withdraw permission.
  • Set a plan: how much risk capital, not “get rich this week.”

7. Checklist

  • ✅ Official URL/app (mexc.com)
  • ✅ Signup + email/SMS code completed
  • ✅ 2FA + backup key saved offline
  • ✅ Primary KYC approved
  • ✅ Advanced KYC approved (if needed for your limits)
  • ✅ Test deposit on correct network

8. Common issues

  • Email code not received: check spam/junk; wait 2–3 minutes; confirm you typed the correct email.
  • Face check failed: front lighting, full face in frame, no camera filters.
  • Blurry ID photo: turn off direct flash; shoot in daylight; all corners visible.
  • Cannot withdraw: check KYC tier, 2FA, and any 24-hour security freeze after device change.
