How to create a Binance account + identity verification

BinanceAccount guide · 2 min read

Binance is a global exchange with large liquidity. For beginners in Indonesia, the priorities are: sign up on the official domain, enable 2FA, then complete KYC. Always type binance.com manually — do not trust suspicious search ads.

Disclaimer: technical account education only, not trading advice. Product and fiat availability for Indonesian users may change per policy and regulation — check banners and notices in your account.

1. Prerequisites

  • Clean email + active mobile number (+62).
  • Valid KTP or passport.
  • Authenticator app (Google/Authy) on the same phone (recommended before large deposits).
  • Camera for liveness check.

2. Account registration

  1. Open the official Binance site or app → Register.
  2. Choose signup with email (recommended for recovery) or phone number.
  3. Create a strong password (minimum 8 characters, mixed case, numbers, symbols).
  4. Enter a referral code only if you actually use one — it can be left blank.
  5. Enter OTP from email/SMS.
  6. Add phone number if prompted for new-device security.
Anti-phishing: check URL and certificate. Do not download APKs from Telegram links. Set a “Binance Anti-Phishing Code” in settings if available.

3. Enable 2FA (strongly recommended before KYC completes / deposit)

  1. Go to account security → Authenticator / Google 2FA.
  2. Scan the QR code with your Authenticator app.
  3. Save the backup key offline in a safe place (not in a WhatsApp chat).
  4. Test login with the 6-digit code.

Without the backup key, losing your phone can make account recovery difficult.

4. Identity verification (KYC)

On web: profile icon → Account → IdentificationGet Verified. On app: profile → Verification / Identification.

  1. Select country of residence / document issuer: Indonesia (if accurate).
  2. Choose document type: KTP or passport.
  3. Upload requested sides (front/back) — clear and complete. Or continue via QR to phone if web suggests it.
  4. Run Liveness Check: follow on-screen movements.
  5. Confirm personal data exactly as on the document (no abbreviated names).
  6. Wait for review notification (minutes to 1–2 days).
Verification level affects deposit/withdraw/trading limits. Complete the level you need before moving large funds.

5. First deposit (after KYC & 2FA)

  1. Open Deposit → choose a coin (beginners often start with USDT) or fiat option available in your region.
  2. For on-chain: pick the correct network (TRC20/ERC20/etc.) — wrong network can mean lost funds.
  3. Copy your account’s deposit address only; double-check the first and last 4–6 characters.
  4. Send a small test amount first.

Withdrawals later also require matching network + address whitelist if you enable it.

6. Basic trading after you have balance

  • Start with Spot before futures/leverage.
  • Understand maker/taker fees on Binance’s fee page.
  • Never share API keys with withdraw permission.

7. Checklist

  • ✅ Official domain/app
  • ✅ Email + phone verified
  • ✅ Authenticator + backup key
  • ✅ KYC approved
  • ✅ Test deposit on correct network

8. Common issues

  • Liveness failed: even front lighting, no hat/dark sunglasses.
  • Document rejected: glare, crop, or data mismatch.
  • Cannot access certain features: check regional notices in account — not always a “bug.”
